Paris runner finishes 15th

BRANTFORD (BCN) - Heading into a provincial high school cross country meet, 14-year-old Brandon Thomas had one goal in mind. “I was hoping to finish in the Top 20,” he said. “I was cautious in the race and tried to stay in touch with the leaders as much as I could. I was tired when it was over, but I was happy.” And the Paris District High School student had reason to be happy, because he had achieved his goal and finished 15th overall in the Ontario Federation of School Athletics Associations midget boys’ cross country. Thomas described the achievement as “awesome” and said he was nervous before the race, but was able to quell the butterflies. “I found someone who I’d raced against before and it calmed me down.
