Faulds captures silver medal at OFSAA

Trenton High Tigers' Rachel Faulds turned in the top local performance at the 2011 Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations cross-country championships Saturday at Green's Creek Conservation Area in Ottawa.

Faulds, the reigning Central Ontario Secondary School Association and Bay of Quinte senior girls champion, finished second at the provincial finals to capture a silver medal.

"After two straight OFSAA cross-country appearances where she was boxed in early and had to fight her way through the pack, Rachel got an excellent start and was running comfortably with the lead group of 8-10 runners at the one kilometre mark," said her father and THS coach Allan Faulds.
