Now that Alex Jarvis has experienced his first Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations’ cross-country running championships, he knows what he wants in 2011.

A victory.

Jarvis, a Grade 9 student at A.Y. Jackson Secondary School in Kanata, came oh so close in the 2010 OFSAA championships boys’ midget 5,000-metre race last Saturday in Toronto, when he finished a close second to Robbie Elmhirst of Bill Crothers in Unionville. Elmhirst finished in 16 minutes, 49.92 seconds, while a charging Jarvis was runner-up in 16:51.82.
